Helping pets in need is very important to our Home Away From Home family. We are proud to be actively involved in our local community by creating and participating in events that benefit shelter animals and rescue organizations. Each Christmas season, we host Santa’s Double the Joy Toy Drive to help ensure every shelter pet receives a special gift during the holidays. We also love being part of the Tattoos for Rescues event, where we host a booth and volunteer our time by bringing adoptable dogs to help them find loving homes. Working in pet care is rewarding but demanding, and pet sitters often push themselves to take on extra bookings because they genuinely love and care for each pet they serve. Many work seven days a week, including holidays and weekends, so clients can enjoy their time off knowing their pets are loved and well cared for. We are deeply aware of the risks of burnout and compassion fatigue this can cause, which is why we prioritize support, training, fair pay, and manageable schedules to help prevent these challenges. Our zero-tolerance harassment policy ensures that every sitter can work in a safe, respectful environment, free from threats, abuse, or inappropriate behavior. By protecting the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of our team, we empower them to provide the best care possible—because taking care of our sitters means taking care of your furry family members.
