From a young age, I’ve always felt a special bond with animals — even those who are typically shy or wary around strangers. Growing up surrounded by cats and dogs, I can’t imagine a life without them. So, when I was old enough to start working, I knew right away that I wanted to pursue a career caring for animals.

My journey began at a local boarding facility in my hometown of Okoboji, Iowa. After moving to Sioux Falls, I continued working with pets at another boarding facility for a couple of years. During my time there, I completed several training classes focused on positive reinforcement training techniques and understanding canine behavioral cues. Before joining Home Away From Home Pet Service, LLC, I also gained experience through other pet-sitting platforms, further expanding my skills and knowledge. My experience extends beyond just dogs and cats — I've also cared for rabbits, fish, and other small pets. 

With 7 years of experience caring for animals, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a wide range of breeds, sizes, and temperaments — from tiny toy breeds to towering Great Danes. I’m experienced in providing care for pets with special needs, including those requiring medications, insulin injections, and support for conditions like seizures, anxiety, and arthritis.

At home, I share my life with my two beloved cats, Herschel and Sloane. My background as a licensed nurse has further enhanced my ability to provide attentive, compassionate care — ensuring your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities.

Pet sitting is my part-time passion alongside my full-time career as an LPN on an orthopedic inpatient unit at Avera. I work three 12-hour shifts each week, which leaves me with plenty of free time to care for your furry family members. Despite my full-time role, spending my extra time with animals is something I genuinely love — nothing makes me happier than seeing pets relaxed, happy, and having fun!

I’m flexible and dedicated to accommodating your schedule and your pet’s unique needs. Whether it's playtime, snuggles, or simply ensuring they feel safe and comfortable, I’m committed to making each visit a positive and enjoyable experience for your pet.

I offer a variety of pet care services to meet your needs, including drop-in visits, dog walking, adventure walks, pet taxi, and occasional daytime homestays. For my dog walking and drop-in visit services, you can choose the duration that best suits your pet’s needs, with options ranging from 15 to 60 minutes per visit.

Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I understand that some animals, especially those with anxiety, feel most secure in their own home. That's why I take great care to follow your specific instructions — whether they relate to feeding, medications, walking routines, or general care preferences.

During each visit, I make sure your pet receives plenty of affection, attention, and playtime. If your pet feels unsure or nervous, I’ll take a calm and patient approach to help them feel safe and comfortable without pushing their boundaries. My goal is to provide thoughtful, compassionate care that keeps your pet happy, relaxed, and well-cared for while you’re away.

Safety is incredibly important to me — just as I would want my own cats to be cared for safely, I apply that same level of caution and attention when caring for your pets. While providing pet sitting services in your home, I’m always mindful of your personal space and ensure everything is left clean and tidy. If your pet is a known escape artist, I take extra precautions when opening doors or letting them outside, always double-checking to ensure your home is secure before I leave. If anything unexpected happens during my visit, I’ll notify you right away so you're always informed and aware of your pet’s well-being.

I require a meet n greet when booking with new clients because I understand that unfamiliar faces can be unsettling for some pets. This meeting gives us a chance to get acquainted, allowing your pet to feel more at ease when I visit. Creating a warm, happy environment is my goal during every visit, and there’s nothing better than being greeted with excited tail wags or happy purrs the next time I stop by.
